Hi Hargun,
You need to score a lot better. The good part being you still have enough time. Concentrate properly on NCERT syllabus. Mere reading might not help. You also need to understand as well as remembers the basics. NCERT is the correct way to start your preparation.

Try to complete the syllabus. Concentrate on topics which you are not that good with.

Greetings Professor Chaos....
I am preparing for BITSAT 2011 through NCERT textbooks and recently I have been giving a few mock tests(by mtg). My scores are around 200-220. How should I proceed to getting my scores improved?
Currently I simply read chapters from NCERT, solve a few back end questions etc.

No do not go for MTG now.... taking Mock tests is a long time away from now

First concentrate on preparation.... Mock tests should be right at the end of your preparation....

BITSAT has no important topics....you need to complete the syllabus.... your question paper might contain questions from any topic

TIME is a really really tough exam for BITSAT

I would always rate BITSAT toughness lower than IIT JEE and AIEEE but the trickiness and the methods to score more marks are different

You can read all the articles on the blogs and apply the same in the Mock tests and the main exam

You have lot of time to improve... It all depends on your dedication

Hi Ashish,
Arrihant is slightly of lower quality than the actual BITSAT exam. Many of them have actually pointed out in the past that if they score above 350 in Arrihant tests, they end up with scores of 280-300 in BITSAT

MTG is a good book

my xam is on 1 june. i have done only trigonometry from mtg. i have only 3 days(i also hav 2 do more papers in this time) to do mtg book...in what order of topics should i do it(coz obviously the whole book wont happen in 3 days).......

1.Go to mtg website & you can download the bits papers after paying some bucks.
2.Mostly bits doesnt repeat the ques like aieee, but it is advisable to go through previous years papers just to get the knowledge of the toughness of the bitsat.
3.As far as i know it is advisable to go to nits than bits hyderabad. but if u get a really good course then u can safely enroll in bits hyderabad.

Hi to Arvind and Santhosh sirs..

I'm having my exam on June 03 ,2010 and currently I'm doing MTG-BITSAT Explorer.I have not done any mock tests fully as I am in doubt about my level of preparation [ and I am kind of pessimistic too. ].My problem is that my friend who had written the exam today advised me to complete MTG as he found many questions in his BITSAT Exam directly related to it .But If I want to complete MTG , I may have to continue till atleast 23 May which means I won't be able to concentrate on byhearting stuff for P,C,M and even word meanings for English [Because I will anyway take 4-5 days to do 5-6 mocks , which I cannot afford to ignore. ]So frankly speaking , is it OK TO LEAVE MTG-CHEMISTRY ? [as it involves basically memory and practice is least req for it ? ]

I am sorry we canno provide the solutions this year. You can try from MTG or others which provide solutions. By this time you might be knowing your wea areas. Just revise the formulas and try to put extra effort in your wea reas.... And do not start any new topic in the last 2 days.. Purely revision of basic formulas... model problems

Hi Abhishek,
More than studies what you need is confidence... You have performed decently good in both JEE and AIEEE.... you just need to push yourself...just that extra effort to get a very good score in BITSAT

You have ample time to revise these topics and it is good that you have identified your weak areas. BITSAT Physics is more about having a very good understanding of the concepts. Revise these topics again and try to solve the theory based problems at the back of a book like H.C. Verma or Arrihant which have solutions. Now try where your approach is wrong and try to understand the methods.

As far as my understanding goes Mechanics problems are just tricky.... You just need to add that extra equation at the end or subtract some value where people commit mistake.... If you cross that thing then there is no stopping you

And my dear abhishek... there is nothing to be afraid of Maths especially coordinate geometry. You just need to spend some more time with it.

You have enough time... plan well... take atleast 5-7 BITSAT tests.. if possible 10... and see how you fare in the above topics....Once you get some confidence in mock tests it will surely help you in the final BITSAT
