@Anonymous 1: BITSAT maths is easier compared to AIEEE...atleast it will be easier than AIEEE 2009

@Vikhyat Arora : NCERT is fine....but you need to practice different models...so better to parctise problems from standard books like TMH/Das Gupta etc

are there individual subject cutoffs in BITSAT or the total score matters? also how comparable will the paper be to AIEEE 2009? im getting around 273 in AIEEE so how much does that translate into for BITSAT?

@Adarsh : No subject wise cutoffs in BITSAT...273 in AIEEE is a good score....if you write the exam properly you should get above 320

@Vikhyat : Then go for mock papers with solutions....work on one paper everyday...it should do..By solutions I mean the complete method of solving the problems...not the key

sir
i got a total of 210 in AIEEE-09,i did poor in maths especially in algebra section.i am good in calculus,vectors and coordinate.which book should i refer for algebra for bitsat and shall i complete the whole syllabus or do more practice papers as my bitsat is on 27th may.

@maansi: No you are not eligible...You should cross 80% in PCM and atleast 60% in each of Physics Maths and Chemistry

i've written a mock test in bitsatrace.com site developed by iit students...i got a score of 156..and i found that few Q's were wrong is that a gud score ? can u advice on few gud sites where i can take a gud mock test for bitsat..

@Karthik : Bitsatrace tests are a bit tough....but still you need to work a lot....dont be disappointed..... If you have the passion you can surely get good marks...try goiit,learnhub,,minglebox etc...they are good sites :)

Sir, about d mathematics part ….….i hav got 2 memorise most o’ d formulaes o’ coordinate geometry….coz till nw I had been undr d impression dat I can work out a formula in d exam…….. and….i m preety bad at probability(dint practise it enuf) . not yet done d statistics part n linear programming….exam on d 4th o’ june……

sir in all your past posts you have recommended CAT material for english and logical reasoning....but its proving to be rather hard for me to get hold of any CAT material for english...also i've noticed that the vocabulary questions are pretty tough in most of arihant's papers and the past year's BITSAT papers....so is there anywhere else i could study english and logical reasoning from??

@bhaswati: Try to complete linear programming and statistics...it wont take more than 2 days to complete these topics....then revise :)

@devendra : I have given links to many sites english papers...tey shoudl be sufficient...Also arrihant/mtg is more than enough to prepare for BITSAT

The more you worry about English the lesser your marks in Maths/Physics/Chemistry....So stop worrying about English and Logical Reasoning...Just attempt enough papers..say 3-10....dont try to master english language in this short time...Instead concentrate more on revising Maths/Physics/Chemistry

AIEEE 2009 maths was horrible....BITSAT wont be that tough(hopefully)

Try to solve atleast 10 complete papers

BTW Arrihant does not provide previous year papers for BITSAT....infact no one can do because the papers are selected from a huge question bank

One can only provide questions similar to BITSAT

Arrihant would do for practicing problems

@Srivani : Very funny....no one can release the last year papers...BITSAT questions are taken from a huge question bank...so it is not possible for any organization to acquire all those questions...And BITS never allows access to those questions for other guys

So in short it is a marketing strategy and are trying to fool you

No they wont be...Please check my blog tomorrow...i am writing a new article on the myhts of Bitsat exam paper...all your doubts will be cleared there

@Anonymous : Your AIEEE does not matter...what matters is the exams left....

I had a rank of 4788 in AIEEE....most of my friends had a rank below 2000...At the end I scored 309 in BITSAT while my friends had a score of less than 270

So what changed??? Only my determination to study and crack BITSAT

290 is a good score...but you need to improve...try practising more papers...Try to find out your mistakes after you write the eams and try not to repeat them :)

Hi, I am from Tamil Nadu State Board, many of people ask me to refer NCERT books... but i dont have them and I dont have time and money to buy them and none i know is willing to share the books due to stiff competition... is going thru NCERT a must for BITSAT.. or do I have fair options of winning with my own stateboard books.. but comparing my state board books with some other text material I found data insufficiency in our syllabus and material. please help me.. but i am determined in cracking BITSAT

@bha123adi : That is the reason I ask people from state board to study from NCERT books...dont worry if you cannot afford such books...there are many online resources for such topic

Visit goiit.com ..It has complete resources for free...

To get qualified I am sorry to say this but you must follow NCERT/NCERT related material

i have 2 weeks left before bitsat 09 and i have just about finished the portion except for trigonometry and algebra i have not covered these topics well before and just know enough to manage simplification required in topics like calculus
how do i go about finishing these topics? i really want to cover them before bitsat. what books should i use?

@anuj : trignometry and algebra are very important...you can revise the basic problems and formulas...you can cover them in 10 days...also practice many papers...the best preparation for mathematics is practice :)

I AM BASICALLY FROM CBSE.

I HAVE NEAR ABOUT 20 DAYS FOR MY BITS EXAM.
WHAT ALL BOOKS SHOULD I READ, SO AS TO GET A VERY GOOD RANK (NOT JUST CLEAR CUT OFF).
FOR CHEMISTRY SHOULD I JUST READ NCERT OR GO FOR OPTANDON.
EVEN I HAVE SRI CHAITANYA AIEEE MATERIAL (ALL SUBJECTS).
SHOULD I EVEN BUY MTG BITS EXPLORER OR SHOULD I PRACTICE MTG MONTHLY MAGAZINES WHICH I ALREADY HAVE OR JUST KEEP PRACTICING ANY ONLINE PAPERS.
ALSO ADVICE FOR OTHER SUBJECTS (BOOKS & WAY OF PREPARATION).
YOU RECOMMENDED TO REFER CAT MATERIAL FOR ENGLISH, BUT IS IT NOT MUCH ABOVE BITS LEVEL.

PLZ DO GUIDE ME…..

You have time go for OP Tandon in chemistry apart from completing NCERT...imp thing being completing atleast NCERT syllabus :)

CAT material is the extreme step...not required for now...English preparation from your 12 English grammar books and by attempting mock tests

Practice online tests 10 days before your BITSAT - one test per day not more than that...spend rest of the time revising your concepts

For Maths and Physics Chaitanya material should do

And for MTG depends on the number of mock tests you want to attempt...prefer online tests for now
