BITSAT 2010 - Admission Test For BITS Pilani- Copy of the advertisement

@Anonymous: :)...all the best for BITSAT
and...you mean the dates till may 16 may have an easy paper...or the level of bit sat may also start from tough- moderate-easy.....or easy- moderate-tough...or any order..plz give me the answer..i`m tensed...my date of bits is 18th of this month....plz give the ,waht may be the toughness mode for my date.....plz sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It will contain equal number of tough , moderate and easy questions
And for InOrganic any standard book like O.P.Tandon/Arrihant/Narayana/Chaitanya material
@Ashitha: :)
@Anant: I dont remember the level of AIEEE 2008 but BITSAT will surely be easier than AIEEE 2009
so sir what do u suggest?is it enough if i prepare narayana eamcet and aieee material for these topics in these last 20 days?
@aakansh : Ya it is but as I say again atleast complete the basic problems in all topics :D
@angaj : Yup...but you need to work hard...you need to work on your mistakes...you will surely improve
what is the range of marks for getting a seat in pilani campus for MSc(hons) in Physics?
@niharika: You are doing good...just concentrate on the mistakes...I have written a good article whether to attempt extra 12 questions or not..Check that link - Should I atempt extra 12 questions or not?? - Click here@Anonymous : Refer to the reply given to achyuth
@aditya: A valid point...most mock tests use the same old question papers....and some of them dont even check if it is according to the current BITSAT syllabus
@namrata: I dont know about Dev Mukherjee(doesnt mean it is a bad book)
Any regularly prescribed book available in the market is a good book for preparation
Even I did such mistakes in my 12....and many times I used to divide instead of multiplying and vice versa
The thing I realised after writing my AIEEE and before my BITSAT was to concentrate on every bit of calculation I do in my mind or on the paper....
Allow yourself 1 min for every question....Note down all the rough in plain sheets of paper...Do not try to make a mess of different problems.....If you cannot solve problem in 1 min just skip it....You may be slow...you may score less in mock tests but it is the only way you learn
And this was one thing I always used to do...Before sleeping every night I used to multiply some random 3 digit numbers in my mind...subtract some 5 digit numbers from a 3 digit numbers and stuff like that...it helped a lot :)
If you think you need to revise more go for CAT material - but I wont advise you spending so much time on English
@Pulkit : Unlike IIT's which give separate degrees all BITS campuses give the same degree
BITS-Pilani , Pilani Campus for Pilani Guys
BITS-Pilani , Goa Campus for Goa guys :)
even few topics like magnetism are not included...
so do we have to go through such topics or just concentrate on those which are mentioned in the bits website??
@niharika : And I though to understand electromagnetism one has to have a bsic idea of magnetism and stuff...as such magentism is a minor topic....only when coupled with electricity it becomes a very important topic
And PCM is calculated only using 12 board marks...again doin a search for the articles would help the cause
My dilemma is regarding the "extra 12 questions". I remember reading some post abt it, But i am not able to locate it now. This seems like the next most relevant section....
Well, I manage well in completing Eng, Chem and Phy in that order. When i come to math, i find myself invariably struggling with around 10 questions. Is it advisable to take a gamble, randomly answer the remaining question (around 15) and in the last 15 mins go for the "12 extra question"? The reason for this question is that i get the general impression that these 12 questions have been easy compares to the main section in the past tests. Please correct me if i am wrong at any point, and please comment regarding the above. Thanks :)
And many people this tie felt that the etra 12 questions are tough compared to the paper they get
@Bhaskar : See the last year cutoffs
i wanted to know abput the extra 12 questions...one friend said that they are +12 and -2...plus almost all say that they are really very easy compared to the paper..and is it that you can answer them only after having answered each and every question in the paper...so is it worth opting for those 12 by hurrying thru the paper...and fluking some questions in case you are not sure..after all they are +8...??? my bits is on 30th..and i'm really confused...secondly i'm solving mtg bits explorer..is it a good book..??? please help...
i am sanya relan its very important for me to do good in BITSAT otherwise i will have to take a drop out
my exam is on 30th june and there is very little time what are the topics i should emphasis so that i can get ece at BITS
please reply soon
thank you
Anyways revise and byheart basic formulae and model problems...practice papers and concentrate on your mistakes....that should do
