i ve been put on waitlist after the 1st iteration.i ve a few doubts abt it
1)Do u think that i can get Msc(hons) bio at bits goa
can i get any better dual at any of the campuses
2)if i get Msc bio can i change it to msc maths later(i mean is it very difficult to do so)
.....pls sir do reply to this query as the counselling dates are clashing and am really confused abt everything.........shud i wait 4 BITS

as far as chem is concerned i think u shud listen to your interest here.if u r intrstd in doin b.e chem den go for it else dont think about a transfer from chem to odr branch rather beter opt for a dual an take a branch of ur choice! please reply wat u got?? ... all d best!!

Hey Charu, in dual u dont hav to atend double classes ..check this link out for ur query http://blog.bitsexam.com/20... i think u shud rather go for ur interest. if u r int in doin chem engg den go for chem if u r not den better go for an m.sc+the engg trait of ur choice rather dn planning a transfer frm chem to some odr brnch, all d best! please post wat u got as d results r out!!

hello sir,
i have got 285 in bits and will most probably be getting either a msc or a chemical in goa or hyd. what i want to know is
1) is chemical btech better or an msc thru which we can change to a better course better?
2) in dual do we have to attend double classes and all so that we can complete both btech and msc in 4 years ( the fifth being taken up in internships and all)?
even after reading all ur blogs related to dual am confused bout this thing.sir plz answer as soon as u can. thanks....

According to 2009 cut offs, I can get computer science at hyderabad and chemical at pilani with 316 marks...So what should I opt for? Which of the two has better placements and good scope?

Hi Jithin,

Yes you can get a Masters degree after joining college with an Engineering(B.E.) degree provided you perform well in the first year. One of my senior passed out with B.E. Computer Science + M.Sc. Mathematics

You can also do another Masters degree - it is not restricted to an engineering degree. One of my batchmates is doing M.Sc. Physics with M.Sc. Mathematics - Hope this clears your doubt

According to me both options are equally good. It entirely depends on you how you make use of the opportunities

Sir , my doubts are whether a person admitted to BITS
[i] to any BE / engineering courses can end up with a Master's degree after 4/5/6 years ?
[ii] to MSc [hons] can end up with only a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Masters is also possible under the duals method ?

As I'm planning to do research in future [ my specialization will be under mechanical engg ] , I want to know whether it is better to end up with a Master's in Engineering or go by the dual method to end up with a Masters in say in Physics and a bachelor's in Mech Engg ?

1) See the point is you cannot get a transfer to an M.Sc.(hons) and then take an engineering dual - no such cases are possible....i.e. if you take a transfer after first year to M.Sc. you will not get a dual in engineering but do only an M.Sc.(hons) course for 4 years
2) To change to an engineering degree you need a CGPA above 9.2 for BITS
3)If you get an M.Sc. Bio for transfer and dual stuff read post on difference between duals and transfers...adn other posts on dual degrees
